Am I the only one who pushed a door that said pull in Austin and now I check every handle twice?
I was walking into a coffee shop on Rainey St in Austin last month and pushed a door with a big PULL sign, stood there for like 3 seconds feeling dumb while people waited behind me. The handle was one of those flat vertical bars that gives zero clue which way it moves, so I just guessed wrong. I felt so annoyed that I started paying attention to handles everywhere, and now I notice how many public doors have terrible grab points, thin bars with no grip, or knobs that spin. Why do businesses keep picking handles that fight your hand instead of helping it, and has anyone else gotten weirdly obsessed with this after one embarrassing moment?
