Soft-close hinges were a gimmick to me, until I retrofitted 12 of them

I always thought soft-close hardware was just a sales pitch, especially after a customer in Austin complained about the price. But last month I put Blumotion hinges on an old oak cabinet I built back in 2017, and the difference in how the door settles is honestly wild. The catch was measuring the overlay right and using a 35mm bore bit, which took me two tries on scrap first. Anyone else been late to this particular party, or am I the last guy in the shop to cave?
