Spent 5 years cleaning sensors wrong until a guy in Chicago showed me

I used to do the whole swab in a straight line, one pass, flip it, done deal. Then a repair shop owner in Chicago watched me do a full frame cleanup and asked why I was dragging dust back across the sensor with the same edge. He had me use a fresh swab per pass, 3 passes total, and the before and after on the test shot was night and day. I've been wasting swabs this whole time and probably smearing grit into the glass. Anyone else find out they've been doing a basic step wrong for way too long?
