Why does nobody talk about the guy who told me to skip the shutter clean on a 20 year old Canon
A repair guy in Denver talked me out of touching the shutter on a beat up EOS 3 and just swapping the foam seals instead, and that camera has fired 40 rolls since with zero capping issues. Has anyone else had a vet tell them to leave a part alone instead of chasing every little thing?
The "leave a part alone instead of chasing every little thing" line hits hard because that same thing shows up everywhere. People mess with stuff that works fine because they read one forum post or watched one video and now they think they have to fix it. Old cars, old houses, old cameras, it does not matter. A guy who has actually touched a hundred of these things knows what breaks and what does not, and half the time the real skill is knowing when to keep your hands off. Chasing every little thing usually just creates new problems that were not there before.
