My $200 sleeping pad popped on night 2 at Mount Rainier and I want to talk about return policies
I was 4 miles into the Wonderland Trail at Mount Rainier when my pad got a pinhole leak from a tiny rock under my tent. I spent 45 minutes in the dark with a patch kit and my headlamp, and it still went flat by 2am so I ended up sleeping on my pack. The real problem is the store wanted a receipt for the warranty claim and I had tossed it. Why do companies make it so hard to back their gear when it fails in the field?
