Yosemite storm wrecked my rainfly, what should I get next?
I was camping in Yosemite last week when a huge storm hit. My rainfly tore completely and I got soaked, lol. Can anyone recommend a rainfly that can handle heavy rain?

That's brutal, but Yosemite weather doesn't play around. You need a fly with a higher hydrostatic head rating, like 3000mm or more. Silicone-coated nylon is way tougher than basic polyester. Just check the specs before you buy anything cheap.

Hearing about gear getting wrecked in a storm always hits hard. You put trust in your equipment, and then nature just laughs. Camping in places like Yosemite, you really learn how unforgiving the weather can be. Why do we always find out the hard way that cheap gear isn't worth it? Solidarity to your buddy, charlies50. Hope his next trip goes smoother.
