Rant: stop buying the $6 bottle of fuel injector cleaner, it is doing nothing for your car
I watched a guy at the auto parts store in Reno last month drop $34 on four bottles of injector cleaner and a funnel, and I wanted to shake him. Modern gas already has detergent in it, so unless your car is misfiring or throwing a code, you are just pouring $6 down the tank four times. I run a can of Seafoam through my 2004 Tacoma every 15,000 miles and nothing else, and my mechanic told me at 210k that my injectors look clean as new. What actually helps is a $12 bottle of Techron once a year and actually changing your fuel filter when the manual says to. Anyone here actually seen a real difference from those little bottles, or are we all just buying them because the shelf says they work?
