Serious question, anyone else mock up in cardboard before dropping cash on a standing desk?
So back in March I got it in my head that I needed a $700 standing desk, and before I clicked buy I grabbed an old Amazon box and my tape gun and cut out a fake top at 60 by 30 inches. I taped it to my kitchen table legs and stood at it for a whole workday, and by 2pm my neck was killing me because the height was 4 inches off. I dropped the fake top down, tested again the next day, and it felt way better, so I cut a second mockup at that new height and it was night and day. Total cost was like zero and I found out my real number was 41 inches, not 45 like the listing said. If I had just bought the thing I would have been returning it inside a week. Anyone else do a cardboard stand in before buying furniture, or am I the only weirdo taping boxes to their table?
