Framing square finally clicked after 12 years in the trade

I always used a speed square for rafter cuts, figured the framing square was just for old timers. Then my foreman on a deck job in Portland made me lay out a hip jack with it and showed me how the tables work. Anyone else ditch one tool after finally learning its purpose, or am I the only one who resisted for that long?
