Noticed my miter saw station was off by 1/16th after 2 years
I was building a set of cabinet doors last week for a kitchen in Portland and kept having to shim my joints. After the third door didn't close right, I finally checked my saw station with a square. Turns out the whole platform had settled 1/16th of an inch on the left side over the last 2 years. I bolted some leveling feet under it and now my cuts are dead on again. Has anyone else had their workbench or stand shift over time like that?

My dad's old workbench in the garage has been leaning for years, I just put a shim under one leg and call it character. 1/16th off sounds like a bad day, glad you caught it before those cabinets went in.

Notice how we'll shim a workbench for years but won't forgive a cabinet being a hair off, funny how different standards stick for different things.
