Power stretcher upgrade busted my back, then fixed it
I fought using a cheap knee kicker for years on big rooms, figured the power stretcher rental was a waste. Last month I did a 20x15 living room in Phoenix and my knee gave out halfway through, awful pop sound. Paid $85 to rent a proper power stretcher from the local supply house for the day, plus another $60 for the extra plates. Night and day difference, got that room done in like 3 hours instead of 6 and my knee actually feels okay now. I used to think the price was just for lazy folks but now I see it's about not wrecking your body for a paycheck. Any other installers out there put off getting one and regret waiting? What do you pay to own vs rent one?
