Can we stop recommending shop vacs for ash cleanup already

I keep seeing people here suggest a regular shop vac for ash removal. Every single time I've done that on a job in Portland, I end up with a cloud of fine dust in the living room no matter what filter I use. It gets everywhere. The only thing that works is a dedicated ash vac with the sealed canister or at least a HEPA rated one with a pre-filter. I learned this after charging a customer $180 for a basic sweep and spent another hour cleaning their couch. Why is this still the go to advice on here? Has anyone else actually tested this side by side?
