Why does nobody talk about how much a wire brush changes after a season of soot?
Pulled out the same brush I've run since March and the bristles are half the stiffness they were, which I only noticed after a job in Fort Wayne last week where I had to scrub twice as hard on a stubborn flue. The before-and-after on my arms alone tells the story, one hour of pushing versus twenty minutes same job back in spring. Is there a rule of thumb on how many chimneys before you swap brushes, or do you all just go by feel? Mine is flat wore out and I want to know if I was slow to catch it.
