Took advice from a friend to fire a client early - saved my sanity
Last March a fellow freelancer told me to dump a client after our first call because they kept changing their budget. I thought they were being dramatic but I listened anyway. Turns out that client had already burned through 3 other designers in my town according to a local Facebook group. The red flag was them asking for 4 complete revisions before even signing a contract. Has anyone else had a buddy give them advice that felt harsh but ended up being totally right?

The 4 revisions before signing thing is wild. Were they showing you actual work they wanted tweaked or just vague ideas? Because I had a similar situation where a client kept asking for "just one more mood board" over 3 weeks before they'd commit to anything. Turns out they were shopping my free labor around to compare against other designers they hadn't hired yet. How did your friend clock the red flag so fast on just one call - was it the specific way they talked about money that tipped them off?
