I used to keep every version of a layout in one giant file, all 47 layers of it, because deleting anything felt like losing work I might need later. She told me that flat out over coffee, and part of me thinks she was right about the clutter but part of me thinks hoarding layers saved me more than once when a client wanted to go back to round two. So which is it, do you delete old layers as you go or keep the whole graveyard just in case?
