My old press guy in Dallas said quit chasing pure black, and now my posters look right
A guy who ran a 4 color press for 20 years near Dallas told me last month that I was fighting a losing battle trying to get rich black on cheap poster stock. He said 60, 40, 40, 100 is plenty and I was just flooding the sheet, which made my last 50 posters come out wavy and gray. I switched on my last run and the black finally looks solid instead of muddy. Anyone got a go-to mix for uncoated stock or am I overthinking it?
