Hot take: I stopped soft proofing on my monitor and my prints finally stopped lying to me
I used to swear by soft proofing on my monitor before every job, and two weeks ago I sent a 12 shirt run of forest green to press based on what my screen showed. The shirts came out way more teal than I wanted, so I dug out an old proof book I printed at the shop in Boise 6 months ago and compared it right next to my screen. The screen was off by a mile because my room light was warmer than I thought, and the paper proof matched the press almost dead on. Now I print a cheap test sheet first and hold it next to the shirt before I commit, way less guessing. Anyone else ditch the screen and go back to paper proofs for greens?
