Spent a whole afternoon troubleshooting a job that was in RGB the entire time

Back in 2019 I was at this small print shop in Portland. Got a rush order for some flyers from a local band. I tweaked the file for like 2 hours trying to fix the colors on screen - they looked washed out and muddy. Kept adjusting curves and levels. Finally the guy next to me looks over and goes "dude, check your color mode." Sure enough it was RGB. Converted to CMYK and it looked fine. Felt like a total idiot but hey, we've all been there right? Anyone else ever spend way too long on the wrong fix?

And then you second-guess yourself for another hour even after you fix it.

Two hours in RGB fixing a file that turned out fine? Been there.
