Hot take: soft proofing on my phone tricked me into thinking my printer was broken
I kept sending the same photo of my dog to my home inkjet and getting muddy browns instead of the warm orange collar I saw on screen, and I blamed the printer for a solid 3 orders in a row. Turns out my phone screen was set to a super saturated display mode, and once I turned that off and did a real soft proof in Photoshop against a CMYK profile, the print matched almost exactly. Has anyone else had a screen setting quietly sabotage their color judgment like that?
