Unpopular opinion: touching off every tool after a setup is a waste, and I learned that the hard way last Tuesday
For 6 years I touched off every tool in the turret after every single setup, even the ones that never left the holder. Last Tuesday I was running a 200 piece job on the Haas and touched off all 12 tools like always, and tool 7 was off by .008 because I bumped the holder while loading it. My old lead in Dayton said to just touch off what you changed, and I always thought that was lazy. Now I'm not sure if he was lazy or just smarter than me. So which side are you on, do you touch off the whole turret every time or only the tools you swapped?
