Made a Scratch project with my sister for our dad's birthday

My younger sister asked me to help her make a digital birthday card. We used Scratch to code a simple animation with a message. What other easy coding tools are good for beginners like her?

When ward.phoenix brought up Hour of Code, it made me think of a blog post I read last week. It said that tools like Scratch and Blockly are just the start for young coders. I remember hearing about a site called Code Monster where kids can play with code right away. But isn't the best part seeing how happy they get when their code works? For your sister, maybe look at the guides on Khan Academy, they go step by step.

Calling it just a digital card undersells what you made. Scratch projects are more like interactive animations, which is cooler. For her next step, the Hour of Code site has great one hour activities. Google's Blockly games are also super visual and easy to grasp.
