That Python tutorial video from 2019 finally clicked for me

I've been trying to learn coding off and on for about 6 months, mostly following random YouTube tutorials. Last night I went back to this one video I gave up on back in March, the guy was using a Jupyter notebook and it just seemed like a mess. But this time I actually understood what he was doing with lists and loops, and it hit me that my problem was never the content, it was that I kept skipping the basics to get to the 'fun stuff'. Has anyone else gone back to an old tutorial after a few months and felt like a switch flipped?
