Pantone book at Staples was 6 years stale, client called out my sage green
Picked a sage green off a fan deck I grabbed on clearance for $18 back in March. Whole kitchen renno palette was built around it. Client sent their arch to double check with their own book yesterday. That green turned out to be a different batch number now, shifted almost gray compared to my print. I looked up the copyright page on my deck, it was from 2019. Tossed it in the recycling bin right there. My advice for anyone buying old stock, flip to the last page and check the year before you trust any swatch. Where do you all buy current books that don't cost an arm and a leg? Have any of you gotten burned by an old fan deck before?
