Unpopular opinion: the diver who taught me the most barely said 20 words to me
Back in 2019 I was working a dock job in Pascagoula and this older diver named Ray, 30 plus years in the water, watched me fight a fouled umbilical for 15 minutes then just said 'slow your hands down' and walked off. Next dive I did it and the whole thing cleared in maybe 40 seconds, and that one line has stuck with me way longer than any class I ever paid for. Anyone else get taught more by the quiet old timers than by the guys who talk a big game?
