Pro tip: the tech at the shop on 5th swore a reflow would fix my dead GPU, and he was dead right
Brought a card that would not post to Marcus at the shop on 5th back in March, and he said skip the reball nonsense and just reflow the core with a heat gun at 400F for 90 seconds. I figured it was a coin flip, but the card has been running in my test bench for 4 months now with zero artifacts. He told me heat soak is what kills most of these, not the solder itself. Anyone else had a reflow actually hold up that long, or am I just waiting for the other shoe to drop?
