Reading a spec sheet made me realize my 4000 psi mix is overkill for most driveways
I was killing time at the supply yard off Highway 9 and picked up a tech sheet for one of the admixtures. It listed typical compressive strengths for residential flatwork, and most driveways only call for 3000 to 3500 psi. I have been ordering 4000 on almost every job for the last 10 months, which is just money down the drain. A guy at the counter said he sees it all the time with smaller crews. Am I the only one who got stuck bumping up the mix out of habit?
