Load chart said 8,400 lbs, my chart said 12,000, and I caught it 20 feet up
Last Tuesday at a job site in Garland I was picking a concrete bucket when my LMI started flashing a fault code and the boom just stopped mid swing, so I set it down slow and shut the machine off. Turned out the radius limiter had a cracked solder joint on the circuit board and it was reading the boom 6 feet farther out than it actually was, which would have let me tip past the chart without any alarm. How often do you guys actually pull the LMI cover and check the boards, or do you just trust the last annual inspection sticker?
