A one-star review taught me to stop naming my layers after feelings

Last October I ran a small branding studio out of my garage in Portland and thought my workflow was fine. Then a freelance editor I barely knew left a review on my portfolio saying my files looked like a teenager's diary, with layers named things like sadness and final_v2_please. It stung, but they were right, my shared project files were a mess and every handoff took three extra days of explaining. I switched to a strict naming system using numbers and object names like 01_logo_primary_3x, and now I can reopen a project from 6 months ago without needing a map. It also forced me to organize my artboards and asset folders, which cut my revision turnaround from a week down to about two days. Has anyone else had a stranger's criticism actually fix their studio workflow for the better?
