Remembering when we shot everything on film in Portland

I used to spend every Friday morning in the darkroom at Powell's old annex, waiting 20 minutes for a single roll to dry before scanning. Then digital came in around 2004 and I traded that for a CF card reader and a laptop on the bus, no more chemical smell in my jacket. Anyone else miss the forced patience of film, or is that just nostalgia for the slow pace?

Did the film's grain actually hide the cracks in Portland's streets better than all this pin-sharp digital clarity?
