Thought mood boards were a waste of foam board until a client in Denver asked to see my process
I used to skip mood boards and jump straight to sketches, mostly because I thought they were just artsy filler. Then a client in Denver asked to see how I got to my final concept, and I had nothing to show her but a messy notebook. She said, "I can't tell if you tried three ideas or thirty." So that night I taped up 14 magazine tears and paint swatches on a piece of foam core and brought it in. Now I spend the first hour of every project building one, and approvals come back way faster. Does anyone else keep their boards physical, or do you do it all in a tablet app?
