Unpopular opinion: my beloved Cintiq almost broke my shoulder
I was at my desk in Austin last Tuesday, leaning over my Cintiq to tweak some line art, when my arm went totally numb. Turns out I had the screen tilted way too flat and was hunching like a gargoyle for hours. I grabbed a cheap laptop stand from Target to prop it up steeper and now I can actually work 3 hours without pain. Has anyone else nearly wrecked their posture with a display tablet?

Are you really that fragile where a screen angle almost breaks your shoulder?

Leaning over my Cintiq like a gargoyle" is funny but I gotta push back a little. I've had a Cintiq for years and never had arm numbness, but I also keep mine flat on the desk most of the time. The trick for me was getting a cheap little cushion to put under my forearms so they stay level with the screen. Props to you for fixing it with a laptop stand though, that's smart. I think people blame the gear too fast when it's really just how you sit.
