Unpopular opinion: rough sketches sell better than polished mockups, and I have the numbers from my last 12 pitches to prove it
I stopped showing finished renders to clients after a project in Denver last spring where they loved the pretty version but sat silent on the rough one, and across my last 12 pitches the messy sketches got approved faster and with fewer revision rounds, which makes me think polish makes people afraid to say what they really want, but my studio partner swears the opposite after getting burned by a client who said 'this looks unfinished' and walked, so where do you all land on this?
Maybe the real trick is matching the sketch style to each client's personality, since some folks need pretty pictures to feel safe while others get scared by them.
