Pro tip: stop guessing grid gap sizes, use a type scale instead

I spent 3 years eyeballing gaps between cards and text blocks in my layouts, always nudging pixels in dev tools. Last month a designer friend in Austin asked why my spacing looked random next to my font sizes. I started mapping my grid gaps to the same modular scale I use for type, like 8, 12, 16, 24. Now everything lines up rhythmically without me fighting the grid, has anyone else tried tying gap values to their type scale?
