Unpopular opinion: I found a $2 million bug live on a client Zoom call and I laughed
I was on a screen share with a client in Austin about two weeks ago, demoing their new pricing page, when I noticed the third tier card was just gone. Not hidden, not faded, literally gone. I dug into the dev tools while they watched and found out someone had set the card's width to 120vw with a negative margin, so on their 1440px monitor it shot off screen like it was being launched into space. The best part was their CFO on the call saying "honestly, that's the tier we wanted to kill anyway." I fixed it in about 3 minutes with a simple max-width, but now I always resize my own browser window to at least 5 different sizes before any client demo. Has anyone else caught a layout bomb mid-presentation and had to play it cool?
