I had a 200 page booklet due in two days and my layout kept shifting every time I adjusted one paragraph. The old guy running the shop showed me to build the pages back to front in 8 page signatures instead, so any edit only messed up one chunk instead of the whole book. Took me about 3 hours to redo the file but the job shipped on time and the client never knew. Anyone else still lay out longer print pieces in signatures, or is that just how the old shops did it?
