Rant: I hit 247 fonts installed on my laptop and finally admitted I have a problem
I was cleaning up my Font Book last Tuesday and the counter said 247. I actually laughed out loud at my desk. I have maybe 6 fonts I use on real client work, and the other 241 are just sitting there slowing down every dropdown menu in every design app I open. What got me was a simple logo job for a coffee cart in Portland. I spent 40 minutes scrolling through fonts before I caught myself and just used the same bold sans I always use. Forty minutes of my life gone, and the client picked the first option I sent anyway. So I made a rule this week: anything I have not used in 6 months goes in the trash. I am down to 31 and my brain feels lighter. Has anyone else done a font purge, and did you actually miss anything you deleted?
