My drop shadow addiction ended after a print run cost me $200
I spent 4 years layering shadows on every UI card I touched, thought it made stuff pop. Then a client asked for a print version of a dashboard and the printer called me out, said the shadows looked like smudged dirt on paper. That moment I realized I was designing for my screen only, not for how people actually see the work. Now I turn off all effects for an hour before I finish anything. Anyone else have a digital habit that got destroyed by a real world reality check?
