I used to skip the 'save for web' export step in Photoshop because I thought it was just for old websites

I was working on a big batch of social media graphics for a local cafe in Portland and my files were huge. A friend saw me sending a 15MB PNG and asked why I didn't use 'export as' instead. I tried it, and the file size dropped to under 800KB with no visible quality loss on screen. It saves so much time now when I'm uploading or sending proofs. Has anyone found other export settings that work better for different projects?

no visible quality loss on screen" is the key part. I always check my exports on a real phone, not just a desktop monitor. The compression can really mess with dark colors and fine text in my experience. I still use Save for Web for anything that needs to be pixel perfect.

On a real phone" is why so much stuff looks bad these days.
