Unpopular opinion: that 'cards everywhere' layout in Figma is killing readability
I was in a design crit last week and everyone was praising a dashboard that used like 40 different cards for info. All I could see was a wall of boxes with no hierarchy, felt like my eyes had to work twice as hard. Am I the only one who thinks cards get overused just because they look trendy?

But doesn't a good card system just make complex info way easier to scan and digest?

Oh man, I actually used to be a card layout defender. I thought they looked clean and modern and was all about throwing everything into separate boxes. But you’re right, I’ve started to notice it too. A dashboard with 40 cards just turns into this flat grid of visual noise where nothing stands out. Last week I was looking at a project where users had to jump between like 8 different cards to get basic info on one item. It felt more like a puzzle than a helpful tool. You definitely changed my mind on this one.
