A swollen laptop battery almost ruined my workbench

Honestly, I was replacing cells in an old battery pack and didn't let them balance properly before sealing it up. Tbh, one cell puffed up and started getting hot real fast, right next to my tools. I had to grab it with insulated gloves and get it outside quick before it got worse. Ngl, now I always use a proper balancer and never rush the process.

Read that swollen batteries can happen from overcharging or just old age, kinda scary how common it is lol.

Just saw a phone battery swell from being two years old... that's wild it can happen just from regular use getting older. Feels like everything's designed to break down on schedule now.
