Ngl, that $300 I paid for a full financial check-up a while back was the best money I ever spent.
Honestly, I was just winging it with my budget before that. I saw an ad for a local advisor who did a flat-fee review of your whole picture, debts, savings, the works. He sat me down for two hours and went line by line through my statements. The big thing he caught was I was paying like $120 a year in fees on an old investment account I'd totally forgotten about. He showed me how to roll it over and set up a simple auto-transfer to my savings that actually stuck. It felt like getting a tune-up for my money. Has anyone else had a good experience with a one-time review like that, or did it feel like a waste?

Totally get what you mean! I did something similar last year and it was a huge relief. The guy pointed out I was paying for two phone insurance plans by mistake, just bleeding money every month. He also helped me set up a better system for my irregular freelance income. Felt like someone finally turned the lights on in a messy room.

Finding those hidden fees is like getting a surprise refund every month.

So did you actually get that money back or did they just say sorry?
