inHot take: I used to think all wire nuts were basically the same until a job in Phoenix last month.
My buddy had the same thing happen with his lineman pliers. He swore by his old pair for years. Then he borrowed a newer style with the angled head and cushioned grips on a long underground pull. He said it felt like he was working with half the effort, especially in tight boxes. He bought a pair that weekend and won't shut up about them now. What's the oldest tool you've upgraded that made you kick yourself for not doing it sooner?

inBack when I started, we'd always cut crown flat against the fence. My buddy in Tampa showed me how to set the miter to the spring angle and cut it nested, and the joints just clicked.
That back cut technique olivia_barnes97 mentioned is key. @oscar754, when you're coping, do you leave a tiny gap at the top of the profile for paint, or do you try for a completely tight fit? I've had both ways work, but sometimes the paint fills a hairline gap anyway.
