inMy desk was a mess until I tried a $12 trick from a friend in Austin.
Why would you hide cables where you can't see problems before they happen? A visible system with ties lets you spot a frayed cord or loose connection instantly. If you need to swap a keyboard or add a new device, you're not stuck peeling off tape and hoping your whole desk doesn't crash down. Keeping everything tucked away seems neat until you actually have to maintain or change your setup. Then it's a huge hassle compared to just unclipping a few ties.

inI finally figured out why my isometric view kept looking wrong
Yeah it really did lol. Used to think I could just power through any project with enough coffee and stubbornness. That whole mess taught me some things just need more time to cook, you know? Like forcing it just makes everything worse for everyone. Honestly changed how I look at deadlines now.

inRead a study that said 70% of agency leads come from referrals, not paid ads
Oof @dixon.rose, at that point your ads are just expensive background noise, right?

inHad to pick between a new hoist rope or a full traction sheave resurfacing on a 15-year-old Otis unit
My cousin still second guesses her choice from three years ago.

inMy old mentor in Chicago said to never ask for a raise until you've been somewhere 2 years.
But honestly, sometimes that kind of tough advice is what you need to hear. It might feel like it sets you back, but it can also push you to work harder and prove them wrong. Maybe your uncle saw a real problem and was trying to help in his own way, even if it came off harsh. I mean, easy praise feels good but it doesn't always prepare you for how hard things actually are. Getting that reality check early can force you to build real skills instead of just expecting things to work out.
