Relying on cancellations like @jessicahunt did just turns the whole system into a stressful game of luck. It rewards people who can sit around refreshing a page all day instead of having a fair shot. That constant checking for two weeks sounds miserable and doesn't fix the broken tech problem at all. We should expect these sites to work right from the start, not plan for them to fail.

Not everyone works well from home, age has nothing to do with it.
