I thought the hype around 'Bocchi the Rock' was just another fad

Yeah, the part about the social anxiety feeling real hits hard. My buddy swore he'd never watch some cartoon about video games, but his sister made him try "Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken." He thought it was just kids drawing. Then he saw how they showed that crazy creative drive, you know, that need to make your weird ideas real no matter what. He called me after binge watching it all, just going on about how he got it wrong.

Spent $40 on a contrast checker app after a client's feedback

Welcome to the club, my eyes have betrayed me more than once.

A customer swore by a homemade rust converter mix, so I tested it on a '98 Civic quarter panel

Remember my buddy trying to fix a rusty lawnmower deck with a paste made from baking soda and dish soap. Sounded nuts, but he slathered it on thick and let it sit for a day. The rust just wiped right off with a rag, no scrubbing. He was shocked it worked and the metal looked great. I still wouldn't try it on a car panel though.

I finally understood why my color choices were a problem after a user emailed me

Color contrast is such a basic thing but it's easy to overlook. I had a similar issue with a pale gray button on a light background. Changing it to a much darker shade instantly improved our click-through rate. You just don't see it until someone points it out.

Serious question, should we always default to high-contrast color schemes?

Used to push for maximum contrast on every project. A designer friend with light sensitivity finally sat me down and explained how painful it can be. Now I believe the line is giving users a choice. Build your default for good contrast, but include a simple toggle for a softer theme. It doesn't have to be a full builder, just one calm option. That middle ground seems to help the most people.
