Shoutout to the guy at the Panera in Columbus who told me my pricing was too low
I was sitting near the counter last Tuesday doing invoices when I heard this guy at the next table tell his friend that agencies under $10k a month are basically doing charity work. I almost said something, but then I thought about my own retainer, which had been stuck at $3,500 for three accounts since January. That overheard line pushed me to finally raise my base rate to $5,000 this week and two of the three accounts said yes without blinking. I was scared for nothing, honestly. Now I'm wondering how long I left money on the table. Has anyone else had a stranger's random comment push them to change their pricing?
