Tried BigQuery vs Tableau for client reporting and the winner was clear
I built dashboards in Tableau for 3 years but switched to BigQuery for a real estate client last quarter. The query speed cut report generation from 12 hours to 45 minutes flat. Has anyone else seen that kind of jump switching between tools?

BigQuery and Tableau are actually different things though - BigQuery is a data warehouse and Tableau is a visualization tool. You'd probably use them together, not switch between them. The speed jump you saw was likely from moving your data to BigQuery's infrastructure, not from replacing Tableau.

Yeah, you're totally right. I remember when we made the switch to BigQuery and the speed was night and day compared to our old setup. The visualization tool we used barely changed, but the data warehouse upgrade was the real game changer. People get confused about which part is actually making things faster. It's like upgrading your car's engine and then thinking the new paint job made it go faster.
