Noticed our local library's AI tool started suggesting books based on my kid's actual reading level, not just what other 9 year olds check out

After the children's librarian showed me how they tweaked the recommendation model to factor in Lexile scores from the school district data we uploaded last month, the suggestions went from 'popular but way too hard' to 'perfect for her', has anyone else seen library AI tools get noticeably better after feeding them some specific local data?

Reese551, but 9 year olds don't all read the same Lexile level anyway lmao.

Holy cow that's actually pretty smart! So most library AI just throws books at kids based on what everyone that age grabs, but your librarian went the extra mile and plugged in actual reading data. That's the kind of local customization that makes these tools actually useful instead of just another recommendation engine like the ones on Netflix or whatever. I bet if more libraries did that, they'd see a lot more kids sticking with reading instead of getting frustrated with stuff way above their heads. Makes me wonder why the default models don't already pull in stuff like Lexile scores from the start.
