Warning: AI transcription tools almost cost me a contract yesterday

I used to manually transcribe every call with clients for record keeping. Took forever but I caught details. Then I switched to an AI service 6 months ago, figured it was saving me hours. Yesterday I went to reference a call about a warehouse rodent job and it completely misheard "rat dropping count" as "radar pumping count". Made me look like an idiot in front of the facility manager. Anyone else had AI tools mangle something critical that a human would have caught?

You know a buddy of mine runs a small pest control company, right? He used an AI tool to transcribe a meeting with a big client about cockroach baiting plans. It turned "bait station placement" into "bait station playmate" in the notes. He showed up to the next site visit and the client was super confused, asking if he was joking around about their serious infestation problem. He had to spend a whole hour re-explaining everything because the transcript made him look unprofessional. Now he prints out a quick hand-written list before every call, just to be safe. It's wild how one little screw-up can make you look like you don't know your stuff.

I mean that's more on you for not double checking the transcript before the meeting.
