My oven never made fries crispy like my air fryer does now

I used to cook frozen fries on a baking sheet, and they always came out soft. No amount of flipping or extra time helped. Then I tried the same fries in the air fryer. They got golden and crunchy in just 15 minutes. It felt like a small win after a long night shift. Now I hardly ever use my oven for snacks. How do you all get your favorite foods crispy with an air fryer?

Did you ever try using the convection setting if your oven has one? Air fryers are basically just mini convection ovens, so that fan makes ALL the difference. My old oven's regular bake setting gave me soggy fries too, but the convection mode gets them way crispier, almost like the air fryer.

Totally get what @brown.susan means, but the air fryer is just easier.

Honestly the real game changer is preheating the pan. Toss your fries on a hot baking sheet and they crisp up way better, even without convection.
